Lazio Increased Patric's Salary For His Recent Contract Due To His Performance
Reports suggest that Lazio has bestowed upon Patric, an important figure in their team, a generous salary boost. Despite being a part of Lazio since 2015, the 30-year-old Spanish player has struggled to make his mark during the Simone Inzaghi era. He has often found himself relegated to the bench, only occasionally utilized as a substitute in a three-man defensive setup. Regrettably, his performances have failed to win over the fans, leading many to believe that his career is headed towards oblivion.
Since Maurizio Sarri took charge in the summer of 2021, Patric has experienced a rejuvenation in his career at Rome, establishing himself as a crucial member of the first-team defense. Throughout this season, he has accumulated an impressive total of 1529 minutes on the pitch, featuring in 18 matches across various competitions.
According to Alfredo Pedulla's report, Lazio has made the decision to grant Patric a substantial raise of approximately 50% from his current after-tax salary of 1.2M Euros per season. Patric's existing contract with Lazio is set to conclude in June 2027, and it seems improbable that his tenure will be prolonged, given that he will reach the age of 34 when his contract expires.
The defender began his professional career at Barcelona, where he was primarily a reserve player and appeared only once for the first squad in the Champions League. He joined the Aquile in 2015 and has made over 175 appearances, winning the Coppa Italia in 2019.
