Atalanta Continue To Refuse To Do Business With Lazio, And They Have Currently Rejected Lazio's Offer For Cambiaghi
Lazio's attempt to acquire Nicolo Cambiaghi has been turned down by Atalanta, who opted to retain him and await a more substantial offer. While the Roman club has not made any new signings in the January transfer window, they appear determined to bolster their winger position before the month's end and have been linked with various players.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio submitted an offer of approximately 8 million Euros to Atalanta for Cambiaghi, who is currently on loan at Empoli. However, the bid was rejected, with Atalanta insisting on a higher transfer fee to secure the services of the 23-year-old player. Despite this setback, Lazio have multiple options to strengthen Maurizio Sarri's attacking lineup in the second half of the season, including Bryan Gil, Jonathan Ikone, Wilfried Gnonto, Gabriel Strefezza, Albert Gudmundsson, Anwar El Ghazi, Rafa Silva, and Federico Bernardeschi.
Cambiaghi, contracted to Atalanta until June 2028, has displayed promising performances during his loan spell at Empoli over the past 18 months, contributing seven goals and five assists in 49 matches.
