Sarri: "Guendouzi? He Can Also Provide Us With Balance Because He Has Defensive Qualities, So He Can Be Very Useful. Kamada? I'm Happy To See His Progress."

After a rocky start to the Serie A season with two losses, Lazio bounced back with an impressive 2-1 victory over Napoli, much to the satisfaction of their coach, Maurizio Sarri. Sarri took note of the standout performances from two new additions to the team, Matteo Guendouzi and Daichi Kamada in the game played on the evening of Saturday, September 2nd, according to local time.

Matteo Guendouzi, a French midfielder signed on the last day of the transfer window, made his debut for Lazio against Napoli. Despite having two goals disallowed by VAR, Guendouzi made a significant contribution to the game by scoring a goal and assisting Zaccagni. His debut was a success and proved to be a valuable addition to the team.

"I recall him as a player with great intensity; he can also provide us with balance because he has defensive qualities, so he can be very useful. Despite only having two training sessions with us, he seemed focused and quickly understood what we were telling him," Sarri told DAZN.

Throughout the season, Lazio's Japanese midfielder, Daichi Kamada, has been a frequent starter since being signed this summer. Kamada finally scored his first goal for the team, as well as his first goal in Serie A.

"Kamada struggled in the first 15 minutes, as did the entire team, and then he played very well; I'm trying to improve him gradually, but I'm happy to see his progress," said the coach.

These first three points moved the Biancoceleste up to 12th in the Serie A standings, and the domestic action will be on hiatus for two weeks due to international fixtures. The Aquile will play Juventus away in Serie A on September 16 before hosting Atletico Madrid in the first game of the Champions League group stage on September 20.
