[Friendly] Girona - Lazio = 2 - 1

Just a couple of weeks before their first match in Serie A against Lecce, Lazio suffers yet another loss in the pre-season. Girona emerges victorious with a score of 2-1 in the 46th edition of the Trofeo Costa Brava, leaving Lazio defeated. Remarkably, Girona concludes their pre-season campaign without a single loss. Míchel's team achieves an ideal ending by triumphing over Lazio, who, in the previous season, secured the runner-up position in the Italian Serie A, in front of their supporters at Montilivi.

All the goals came in the second half. The first was a real goal from Tsigankov in the 51st minute. After skillfully controlling the ball with his left foot, the Ukrainian player launched the ball beyond the reach of the Italian goalkeeper. Following that, in the 69th minute, the score increased to 2-0 with a perfectly executed header by Cristian Stuani.

A standout moment of the evening occurred when Taty Castellanos stepped onto the field. As a beloved figure from his time at Montilivi last year, the Argentine forward was greeted with applause from the Girona supporters, who will undoubtedly forgive him for scoring 2 to 1 in the 75th minute. 

Maurizio Sarri's squad will now face Latina in the last friendly match that is slated for Sunday, August 13 at 9 p.m.
