Castellanos Is Lazio's Primary Target For Striker Reinforcement
Lazio has set their sights on Valentin Castellanos, the striker from New York City, as one of their primary objectives in bolstering their offensive capabilities this upcoming summer. It has been noted that Maurizio Sarri has been keen on acquiring a new striker to fill the void left by the departure of Ciro Immobile since the previous season.
Claudio Lotito has already secured the necessary funds for the upcoming transfer market. Now the Aquile are actively searching for a new striker and have identified various potential options for this position.
After negotiations regarding the transfer of Santos striker Marcos Leonardo reached a standstill with no advancements, it appears that Lazio has abandoned their pursuit of his services.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio's report, Lazio is currently considering their next option, which is Castellanos. Castellanos recently returned to New York City after being on loan to the Spanish club, Girona.
The 24-year-old Argentine striker has a contract with the MLS club until December 2025 and is available for 12 million euros.
Castellanos scored 14 goals and provided one assist in 37 games for Girona last season, confirming his worth in European competitions.
