Lucas Torreira Has Been Linked With Lazio Once Again As Sarri Wants A New Regista For The Next Season

Sarri has reportedly mentioned three potential candidates, including the former Fiorentina playmaker, for the regista position at Lazio.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Sarri has expressed his desire for a fixed reinforcement of the regista position for the upcoming season, particularly with Marcos Antonio out. Although he plans to rely on Cataldi, the coach aims to acquire top-level replacements for Cataldi's backup and competition. Sarri has mentioned three potential candidates. The first is Schouten, a 26-year-old Dutch player valued at 25 million by Bologna, who is considered a gem of the team. The second is Lucas Torreira, a 27-year-old player who has already made his mark in Italian football and is currently playing for Galatasaray. Lastly, Sarri has also shown interest in the newly promoted 24-year-old Daniel Boloca from Frosinone.

Sarri, upon his arrival at Lazio, has been targeting the ex-viola player. Meanwhile, Torreira has expressed his desire to go back to Italy. Although he was suggested as a purchase option in the summer of 2021, the club did not approve the acquisition due to the presence of Leiva and Cataldi, despite the coach's insistence. Torreira has been at Galatasaray since 2022 after being loaned out by Arsenal to Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina.  He is 27 years old and has a valuation of under 10 million.
