Claudio Lotito Has Met With Luis Alberto's Agent To Discuss A Contract Extension
Luis Alberto has been a prominent figure in Lazio for a long time, but this year he has garnered the admiration of both the fans and Sarri in a manner that he has never done before. The Spaniard is considering a renewal of his contract, but certain conditions must be met.
Although Luis Alberto's first adventure with Maurizio Sarri may not have been ideal, now the coach cannot afford to be without him, particularly during a season in which Milinkovic-Savic is not in the best condition. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, a meeting between Luis Alberto's representatives and Claudio Lotito reportedly took place yesterday.
It appears that Luis Alberto is seeking a renewal with certain requests following his remarkable season. Currently earning 2.8 million euros, in addition to bonuses associated with assists and goals, he is requesting a salary increase to 3.5 million euros, which falls between the salaries of Milinkovic (3.2 million) and Immobile (4 million). Lotito, the President, deems the demand to be substantial and is aspiring to meet it by incorporating lucrative bonuses. His contract expires in 2025 and the Biancoceleste president does not want to risk reaching a year from the end.
