Sarri Wants Guarino From Empoli As Lazio's Future Asset
Twenty clean sheets in the season, the possibility of reaching 22 equaling the historical record of Serie A at a club level, as well as surpassing the individual record (21) for Provedel. This is sufficient to understand the numerous benefits of the defense in the exceptional performance of Lazio during the season. Last year there were 58 goals conceded, this season's goals are 30 fewer and there are still two games to play.
Romagnoli, Casale, and Provedel. Three players that have revolutionized Sarri's defense, but above all three teammates who now understand each other perfectly, on and off the pitch. This will make it difficult to have an additional significant presence in the defense department during the summer.
However, besides attempting to find a deputy for Immobile, Lazio is also interested in bringing in a young defender that can grow alongside Romagnoli and Casale. Additionally, coach Maurizio Sarri, reported by Il Messaggero, would be interested in Gabriele Guarino, who was born in 2004 in Empoli.
Guarino, who turned 19 in April, has yet to make his Serie A debut but has frequently worked with Paolo Zanetti's first squad, making 16 appearances in the Primavera 1 championship. Guarino is a member of the Italy Under-20 squad that traveled to Argentina for the U-20 World Cup.
