Immobile: "Lazio Is Exhausted Because The Race Is Extremely Difficult Against Strong Opponents That Are Attempting To Take Our Place."
Lazio's captain Ciro Immobile has spoken about the difficulties his team is experiencing in their pursuit of the top four in Serie A. He also commented on this year's Champions League.
Lazio had been performing well recently, but things have changed in the last five games and the Sarri's have only won once in their last four Serie A matches, this has put their race in the top four in jeopardy.
Biancoceleste is currently in fourth place with 65 points, four points ahead of Milan and one point behind Inter. Maurizio Sarri's side was lucky because the Rossoneri also dropped a point in the last match.
Immobile commented on The Aquile's difficulty to secure a top-four position in the final standings this season.
"Lazio is exhausted because the race is extremely difficult against strong opponents that are attempting to take our place. We must dedicate ourselves to our jobs, in the previous game we lost points, but we still have a long way to go," said the striker via La Lazio Siamo Noi.
He then discussed the semifinals of the Champions League and which team would win.
"I wish the Italian team well, I have a good relationship with Inzaghi as a person, and as a coach, and I will be pleased with him. However, in the Europa League, there is also a semifinal between Italian clubs. Recently, people have claimed that Italy lags in football, but this is untrue," he said.
"I listened to Bernardo Silva's interview, the difference between the leagues is not there which means that some people may not understand football."
"You have to play there, some leagues indeed offer financial benefits like the Premier League, but we also had a successful year here."
The Aquile must complete their remaining matches of the season against Udinese on May 21st, Cremonese on May-28th, and Empoli on June 4th.
