If Lazio Fails To Get Giuntoli, Sarri Wants Accardi To Replace Tare Next Season
Maurizio Sarri is hoping that Lazio will hire Empoli sports director Pietro Accardi to replace Igli Tare, whose contract expires at the end of this season and who is willing to leave the Italian capital club if they are unable to convince Giuntoli to join them.
Maurizio Sarri hopes that Pietro Accardi will replace Igli Tare as Lazio's sporting director this summer. The 49-year-old Albanian director's present contract with The Aquile will expire at the end of next month, and the club is unlikely to give a contract extension.
The coach, who is 64 years old, is reportedly dissatisfied with Tare's performance, and it appears that Claudio Lotito is unsure of his ability to lead a growing project in the capital. The Biancoceleste coach has never met Tare in person again after they started to get into an argument about the transfer policy, the sporting director's efforts in the recent past have failed to lead to a significant impact, as the club signed players like Muriqi and Vavro with high expectations placed on their performances.
With Giuntoli is closer to Juventus than before, so Sarri has urged the club to procure the sporting director at Empoli, Accardi, to replace Tare. However, Lazio isn't the only team involved; Napoli is also interested in signing the former defender to replace Giuntoli.
The 40-year-old Italian has had an impressive performance with the Tuscan club throughout his tenure which started in 2016. He has helped them sign players like Guglielmo Vicario, Fabiano Parisi, and even Ivan Provedel in 2017.
