Lazio Will Increase Pedro's Salary To Cover A Portion Of The Money He Will Have To Pay Roma
According to reports, Lazio is currently working on a plan to have veteran winger Pedro Rodriguez agree to a new contract that would keep him at the club for the foreseeable future after months of negotiations over a new contract.
Lazio is in a difficult situation because Pedro must pay his former club and their city rivals, Roma to remain with The Aquile due to a clause in the winger's contract
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Claudio Lotito intends to keep Pedro Rodriguez's contract next season after the winger had a successful first two seasons under Maurizio Sarri and it was implied that he desired to remain in the capital of Italy.
Biancoceleste is preparing to extend the winger's contract by one year and increase his salary by a small amount.
The report also states that the 33-year-old will receive €2.2 million annually, an increase of €200,000 from his current contract that will cover a portion of the money he will have to pay Roma.
In the 2022/23 season, Pedro has participated in 36 matches for the Italian capital club and has contributed six goals and two assists in all competitions. He is willing to assist his team in acquiring the top four in Serie A and qualifying for the Champions League next season. Currently, they are second in the standings.
