[Official] Klose Sacked By SCR Altach After A Series Of Bad Results

Miroslav Klose's first career as a head coach in a professional club ended rather quickly. The former German national team striker was fired by SCR Altach.  That is to say that he only lasted 262 days at the bottom of the Austrian Bundesliga club.

Klose was sacked just a day after Altach played RB Salzburg out a 1-1 draw at home.  The result is considered good because Salzburg is the champion of the Austrian Bundesliga since 2013-14.  However, that made Altach fail to win in 9 consecutive matches. They're slipping further down to the bottom of the standings.

Overall, Klose was unsuccessful.  In the 22 games in which he participated, he managed to lead Altach only on 4 occasions to win. The remainder, 13 losses, and 5 draws.  The average point per game of 0.83 is the lowest of any of his predecessors since 2017.

Laola1 stated that Miroslav Klose is experiencing difficulty at SCR Altach.  He had a difficult relationship with sporting director Werner Grabherr in particular. Some of the coach's requests in the transfer market could not be fulfilled by Grabherr.  In fact, it is needed to improve team performance.

Meanwhile, Herbert Pumann believes that there are other, more fundamental problems. Pumann believed that Klose lacked a specific plan of tactics and formations. Initially, he attempted the 4-2-3-1 system. However, he then devoted himself to the formation of 3 and 5 defenders.  Since September 10, 2022, he has only employed the 4-2-3-1 system once, during his final match when the teams drew 1-1 against Salzburg.
