Liverpool Join Arsenal To Pursue Milinkovic-Savic For Next Season

In the summer of 2023, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's contract with Lazio will only have one year remaining.  Several clubs are preparing to make offers for the player, one of which is Liverpool.

Liverpool pursue Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic after negotiations with Dortmund regarding Jude Bellingham's transfer were unsuccessful.

It's not that Lazio doesn't want to keep him, but it's difficult to defend. It will be difficult for Lazio to keep up with the offers of contracts from Sergej's admirers.

If Lazio doesn't sell him by the summer of 2023, he'll have to leave for free. It would be better to let him go now for a fee than wait for him to run out of contract in 2024.

At the very least, by selling him at the end of the season, Lazio can get around 50 million Euros. However, if Sergej had remained longer, Lazio would have lost an important member of their midfield for free.
