Lazio Banned 3 Of Their Misbehaving Fans From Attending Lazio's Matches For The Rest Of Their Lives
Three fans from Lazio have been banned from watching football for life after being caught on camera making a fascist salutation and singing anti-Semitic songs during the derby against AS Roma last weekend.
Hours after the match Lazio won thanks to a goal by Mattia Zaccagni, a video appeared on social media that showed a Lazio fan with the words 'Hitlerson' next to the number 88.
After that, Lazio released a statement. The club condemned the anti-Semitic movement and banned the three fans involved from attending Lazio's matches for the rest of their lives.
Additionally, Lazio collaborated closely with the security services, waiters, and police, as well as through the utilization of surveillance cameras at the Stadio Olimpico to locate the three misbehaving fans.
"It has been possible to quickly identify a person wearing the shirt with the number 88 written "Hitlerson" and two others who were conspicuously saluting the Romans," the club said in a statement.
This is not the first time that anti-Semitism has dominated the Rome derby in honor of Jewish POW Anne Frank. However, aside from Lazio's internal investigation and punishment, the Italian football federation (FIGC) has provided no further confirmation.
