[Europa Conference League] AZ Alkmaar - Lazio = 2 - 1

Lazio has been eliminated from the 2022/2023 Europa Conference League after being beaten by AZ Alkmaar in the round of 16. Lazio lost that game 2-1, allowing Alkmaar to advance to the quarter-finals 4-2 on aggregate.

At the AFAS Stadium, Lazio took the lead on Felipe Anderson's goal, who was assisted by a long ball from Mattia Zaccagni on the left. The goal came in the 21st minute.

However, AZ equalized through a superb goal from Jesper Karlsson which goalkeeper Ivan Provedel was unable to stop. In the 28th minute, the score became 1:1.

In the second half, Lazio tried to turn around, also through the action of Pedro who came off the bench. However, their efforts were too slow.

There were more problems for Lazio, whose goal was conceded by Vangelis Pavlidis in the 62nd minute.

The 2-1 score remained until the end of the match, indicating AZ Alkmaar's victory over Lazio. This defeat not only eliminated Lazio from the tournament but also forced them to face the Rome derby in Serie A in an unfavorable situation.
