Tare: "Any Player Who Plays For Lazio Is Deeply Connected To The Club And This City, Including Milinkovic-Savic. He Has A Close Relationship With The Team, And Whatever Decision They Make Will Benefit Them Both."
Igli Tare acknowledged that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has a close relationship with Lazio, but said that whatever happened would be beneficial for both the player and the team.
The contract of the Serbian international player Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with The Aquile will expire in 2024, but discussions regarding a new contract have not yielded significant results.
"Any player who plays for Lazio is deeply connected to the club and this city," Igli Tare said on DAZN.
"Several players have been with the club for a long time, including Milinkovic-Savic. He has a close relationship with the team, and whatever decision they make will benefit them both."
The midfielder's agent, Mateja Kezman, also had a previous career as a Chelsea striker, he revealed in August that Arsenal and Newcastle attempted to sign the player during the transfer window last year, but they were turned down because the player wanted to primarily play in the Champions League.
Additionally, the agent stated that Chelsea also had an interest in acquiring the player, they had been monitoring him for years by his former manager, Thomas Tuchel, who was still in charge at the time.
Milinkovic-Savic moved to the Biancoceleste from Genk for 10 million euros in the summer of 2015. He has scored 64 goals in 324 appearances for The Aquile.
The 27-year-old midfielder made his senior appearance for Serbia in 2017 and has scored seven goals in 39 appearances for the national team.
