Sarri: "We Are In Amazing Form, If We Can Eliminate Our Tendency To Lose Points In Ridiculous Ways Against Teams We Should Be Easy Wins, We Can Perform Even Better."

Maurizio Sarri believes that the 4-0 win against AC Milan was perhaps the most impressive performance of Lazio since he is taking over there as head coach, but he notes that it was neither the worst nor the greatest yet.

Lazio displayed a competent performance in the continuation of the Serie A match that took place on Tuesday (24/01) at the Olimpico, despite the loss of Ciro Immobile, they previously beat Sassuolo 2-0 and last night they completely dominated the defending champions Italy, AC Milan.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic initiated the scoring after only four minutes, followed by Mattia Zaccagni's and Luis Alberto's goals, and Felipe Anderson's goal was completed by a team effort.

"As soon as the official blew the final whistle, I believe we have another crucial match against Fiorentina," Sarri said via DAZN.

"We are in amazing form, excited, but also very strange because just a few days ago, we were treated like the worst team in Italy. Tonight, on the other hand, we were considered the best team in Italy, the players are required to maintain balance at this moment is the most significant aspect."

"One aspect of our preparations for the game was to exploit Milan's propensity to create space between defenders, as a result, Felipe Anderson's movement has helped us quite a bit," the coach explained.

"In the first half, we also had a successful record of creating opportunities through the back. We hope Ciro will join us soon and we will observe the results of the examination tomorrow, then we may give the players who participate in this match some rest."

"I'm accustomed to a hectic schedule, but I don't enjoy it because it diminishes the greatest joy of this sport: being on the pitch for every training session, I participated in 65 matches during my time in England, more than we have in one season."

Adam Marusic was a surprising choice to face Rafael Leao, but generally speaking, Sarri has transformed the Biancoceleste defense into a team that has conceded fewer goals than usual at this stage: 19 fewer goals than last season.

"This is most likely the greatest performance I've witnessed since I arrived, but recently, the dedication of my players lately surprises me. If we can eliminate our tendency to lose points in ridiculous ways against teams we should be easy wins, we can perform even better."
