Sarri: "Fiorentina Was A Risky Game, We Must Attempt To Improve Our Quality By Becoming More Consistent In Our Performances."
Maurizio Sarri wants Lazio not to overreact to their 4-0 win against Milan, he warned that Fiorentina is playing better than the score they received before the two teams meeting on Sunday (29th January) evening.
Lazio is still celebrating after their 4-0 victory over the current champions of Serie A, Milan, they hope to build on their momentum when they visit the Vincenzo Italiano's team at the Stadio Olimpico. However, Sarri recognizes that his team often exhibits up and down, after exhibiting excellent play, they sometimes exhibit poor performance in the subsequent match, a problem that still needs to be addressed.
The coach had this to say during his press conference: "We need to maintain our composure, so don't be too optimistic or pessimistic," as quoted by Football-Italia.
"Fiorentina was a risky game, we must attempt to improve our quality by becoming more consistent in our performances, the danger is not physical fatigue, but mental fatigue that causes us to experience this darkness."
"We must overcome this obstacle or we must accept that we are not at the top of the table, even against Milan, our second-half performance was not as good as the first."
The Biancoceleste defeated La Viola 4-0 earlier this season at the Stadio Franchi, however, the coach is not necessarily convinced of this is an advantage for their team.
"The outcome is not commensurate with the events on the field and the statistics are roughly even in terms of shots taken, goals created, and possession of the ball. Fiorentina is renowned for their superiority in every statistic as a whole, but it's difficult to utilize their strengths in a game that results in a positive outcome."
