Mario Gila Is Still Waiting For His Debut In Serie A
Mario Gila could be a real wild card in Sarri's hands: the Spaniard is looking to make his Serie A debut.
Gila's debut in a Lazio shirt brings a lot of anticipation, especially in Auronzo. The defender has established himself as a modern player who, despite his physical quality, is highly technical and has great potential, aspects he has generally confirmed.
The 22-year-old had only played in Spain's third tier before arriving in Italy (plus two appearances for Ancelotti's Real Madrid), with Sarri insisting he is relieved of the enormous responsibility.
As noted in the Corriere dello Sport column, Gila found more space in the Europa League than in Serie A: he started the first five group games before being excluded in the decisive match against Feyenoord in the Netherlands. Despite some errors due to ease (see the game against Midtjylland), he can assert himself as an important joker in the coach's range of choices.
