Luis Alberto: "Ciro Immobile Is The Main Captain. We're All Equal Players Here, But Whatever It Is, It's Always An Honor To Be Entrusted With The Position Of Captain."
The Spanish Midfielder, Luis Alberto, stated that he was honored to be entrusted by head coach Maurizio Sarri to serve as the team's captain.
Despite having previously expressed his desire to depart soon, Luis Alberto appears to have begun to reconsider this.
He made a gesture that indicated that he was beginning to bond with his head coach when he was given the responsibility of leading the Lazio team that won 2-1 over Galatasaray in a friendly match (13/12).
The former Liverpool player scored one goal in that game and was proud of being entrusted with the role of captain.
"It's satisfying to score a goal during the break of the World Cup. This objective increases my confidence and motivation," said Alberto on the official Lazio channel.
"In last October, the team experienced several difficult matches. Now that we've returned with a high determination to progress the second half of Serie A better."
Regarding the faith Sarri had in him to become the captain of the biancoceleste, Alberto said:
"We're all equal players here," he said.
"Ciro Immobile is the main captain and I also know Danilo Cataldi, who also wears the armband."
"But whatever it is, it's always an honor to be entrusted with the position of captain." concluded the playmaker.
