Lazio Wants To Loan Bonazzoli This Season As A Temporary Backup Striker
Lazio is interested in a backup striker that is inexpensive in the January transfer window, they are considering the services of Salernitana's Federico Bonazzoli. Coach Maurizio Sarri has been asking for it since the last summer market, but the club has failed to fulfill it.
Coach Maurizio Sarri has informed president Claudio Lotito and sporting director, Igli Tare, that a new striker is necessary next month to provide backup for Lazio's primary striker, Ciro Immobile.
The 32-year-old Italian striker sustained a hamstring injury in the first half of the season, which has led to him increasingly being relied upon by the club, Biancoceleste will be severely limited without him.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Federico Bonazzoli has failed to have a significant impact on Salernitana coach Davide Nicola after signing for 5 million euros from Sampdoria last summer. He showed better form on loan at Campania last season.
Two Serie A clubs Monza and Hellas Verona are currently leading the hunt for the 25-year-old striker on loan. However, the Aquile haven’t stepped away from pursuing him.
Sarri insists he needs a new striker soon; he believes things will change in the next few weeks.
