Lazio Is Planning A Training Retreat In Argentina During World Cup Break
Lazio is reportedly considering a training retreat in South America, more specifically Argentina during the league and European holidays for the World Cup in November. Maurizio Sarri's team will play in a tournament there.
Rumour has it that Lazio will hold training camps outside Italy during the 2022 World Cup holiday, more specifically in South America, with a destination in Argentina. Serie A matches will be suspended for six weeks from mid-November to give players a chance to gather in their respective national teams, with games set to resume on January 4, 2023. The final game before half-time will be against Juventus on November 13.
As reported by Sportitalia, Biancoceleste is considering hosting a training camp in Argentina during the World Cup break, with matches against Boca Juniors, River Plate, and San Lorenzo.
A deal hasn't been made yet about who presents the trophy at the tournament. Some details still need to be agreed upon or discussed before the tournament trophy can be finalized. Although initial plans have been made, Pope Francis will present the trophy.
Some of the players on Sarri's team will go to Qatar with their respective national teams such as Matias Vecino from Uruguay and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Serbia. But the majority of Maurizio Sarri's team will remain in Rome. Before this, they have a lot of schedules for different leagues such as Serie A and the Europa League.
