[Serie A] Sampdoria Vs Lazio Preview

In the fourth round of the 2022/23 Serie A season, Sampdoria will take on Lazio on Wednesday 31 August at 18:30 at the Ferrari Stadium in Genoa.

While the capital club celebrated a big win over Inter on Friday, Sampdoria was beaten 4-0 by Salernitana and is now just one point so far.

With a big week ahead against Napoli, Maurizio Sarri may be looking to tinkering the winning side and he has another midfield selection dilemma to resolve.

After the goal at Inter, he hoped to finally be in the starting line-up this year, but Pedro stopped again. The Spaniard injured his left ankle in training on Sunday and Wednesday night's trip to Genoa is in doubt. Trident confirms Felipe Anderson, Immobile, and Zaccagni.  

Meanwhile, Sampdoria has only won two of their last 21 Serie A games against Lazio, the most recent date dating back to 17 October 2020, when Claudio Ranieri led Sampdoria won 3-0 thanks to goals from Quagliarella, Augello, and Damsgaard.
