Lazio Want To Offer Milinkovic-Savic 1 Year Contract Extension With Release Clause
Lazio is reportedly considering offering their star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic a contract extension to strengthen their negotiating position amid interest from Premier League clubs.
Lazio is reportedly ready to fend off Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in a contract extension. The 27-year-old Serbian midfielder was reportedly targeted by several top European clubs when he joined the transfer market this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United fast approaching.
However, neither of them has persuaded the Biancoceleste with their offer, with the midfielder's move still up in the air before the end of the summer transfer window.
As Corriere dello Sport reports, the Aquile are aware that Manchester United may make a higher offer this month to strengthen their midfield but will want to secure Milinkovic-Savic if a transfer doesn't materialize in the future.
As a preliminary plan, Claudio Lotito plans to offer the Serbian midfielder a one-year contract extension in September, which includes a pay rise and a release clause.
However, past sources suggest he had previously turned down a one-year contract extension and is now looking to make a good impression at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar so he can attract more top clubs and move on in January.
