Lotito: "Always Do Better. Results Are Achieved, Not Announced. We Are Forming The Team According To A New Technical Arrangement, With The Possibility Of Playing Equally With Everyone."
Lazio president, Claudio Lotito has opened up about the team's plans and confirmed that an overhaul is underway for Maurizio Sarri's squad.
Claudio Lotito knows Lazio's side will need to be overhauled this summer to provide the 63-year-old Italian coach with the right players to remain competitive in his attacking and possession system.
Brazilian midfielder Marcos Antonio is the first man in Lazio's squad this summer and he is likely to follow by others in the coming months.
On the sidelines of the "Uniforms & Casques" exhibition, Claudio Lotito first spoke about his 19 years at the helm of Lazio and what he is most proud of.
"I have been president of Lazio for 19 years. What am I most proud of? It is clear that it is now a stable club, no longer struggling, and should go into the future based on growth," he said, as thelaziali.com reported.
In addition, the Lazio boss also referred to the past as an experience to avoid situations that might not be appreciated. Going forward, Lazio will be able to focus on the game and play a major role in European football.
Lotito also mentioned Sarri's goals for Lazio next season.
"Always do better. We'll see, you don't make predictions. Results are achieved, not announced," he said.
Lastly, Lotito spoke about Lazio's summer transfer window and the mentality that led to the move.
"You build a team that is more competitive than last year. At Lazio, we had a period of adjustment, with a completely different technical direction and tactical setup."
"We are forming the team according to a new technical arrangement, with the possibility of playing equally with everyone," said the Lazio boss.
Lazio is understood to be linked with several players as the summer window approaches, including some of the hottest signings including potential free agent Alessio Romagnoli and potential Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Last season, under Maurizio Sarri, Lazio finished fifth in the Serie A standings for the 2021-2022 season. These results guarantee Lazio's participation in the Europa League in the 2022-2023 season.
