Lazio's Second Purchase: Matteo Cancellieri
Matteo Cancellieri is expected to be Lazio's second deal in the summer transfer market. Biancoceleste beat Sassuolo with lightning speed and earned the 2002 class. The player undergoes a medical examination and begins his new adventure with Maurizio Sarri's team.
It was made for Matteo Cancelleri's arrival in Lazio. Agreed with Verona based on a 7 million-plus a 1.5 bonus. Lazio finalized today, beating Sassuolo's proposal. Gianluca Di Marzio reports on this. The player will undergo medical in Paideia tomorrow.
The player made 14 appearances between the league and the Coppa Italia last season, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist.
Cancelleri grew up at the Polisportiva De Rossi football school and moves to Roma youth at a very young age, only 16 years old. He immediately showed his skill and personality, scoring 19 goals in 19 appearances for U17 side Giallorossi and making his early debut for Primavera. As part of the deal that brought Kumbulla to Roma, Roma decided to sell him to Verona in the summer of 2020.
Cancelleri also befriends Daniel Guerini, the young promise of Lazio Primavera who tragically died in a car accident last year. He and Guerini shared a few years in Roma's youth team and Italian U-17 National team together.
