Lazio won within minutes of extra time thanks to Francesco Acerbi's shot from inside the box that gave the visitors a 4-3 win over Spezia.
The win moved Lazio to fifth in the Serie A standings with 59 points. Spezia is now firmly in 16th place with 33 points.
