Loftus-Cheek's Agent: "He Has A Very Good Relationship With Sarri, But Nothing Is Happening At The Moment. Chelsea Is Still A Top Club Despite The Turbulent Times The Club Is Going Through. It's Hard To Leave A Club Like This."
The player's agent, Jonathan Barnett, says Ruben Loftus-Cheek will stay at Chelsea for the upcoming 2022-23 season. He has previously been linked with a move to Lazio.
The midfielder got a significant increase in playing time in 2021/22, with 18 appearances as a regular and 21 as a substitute in all competitions.
However, the 26-year-old continues to be linked with a move to Lazio from former Blues manager Maurizio Sarri's side.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek himself made 40 appearances in all competitions during the 2018/19 season under Maurizio Sarri. He scored 10 goals and provided five assists, making him the midfielder's most memorable season.
But then he suffered a season-ending cruciate ligament injury and his development had to falter.
While agent Jonathan Barnett admits Loftus-Cheek has a very close relationship with Sarri, he has hinted that the Blues graduate will be in west London for at least another season.
"He has a very good relationship with Sarri, but nothing is happening at the moment," Barnett told Tuttosport.
"Chelsea is still a top club despite the turbulent times the club is going through. It's hard to leave a club like this."
The England international has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, so neither the club nor Loftus-Cheek seems in hurry to decide his future.
