[Serie A] Lazio - Sassuolo = 2 - 1
Lazio pulled back the derby with a 2-1 victory over visiting Sassuolo thanks to goals from Manuel Lazzari and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at the Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio's confidence was shaken with a 3-0 defeat in the derby della capitale 3-0 to city rivals Roma and they are just six points clear of visitors Sassuolo before the clash at the Stadio Olimpico. Pedro was suspended and Stefan Radu was injured, as were Domenico Berardi and Maxime Lopez.
In the 17th minute, the opening goal Lazio had been waiting for, Lazzari himself intercepted a pass from Gian Marco Ferrari in midfield and scored with his left foot.
Lazio extended their lead to the 51st minute in the second half. Luis Alberto took the free-kick quickly and couldn't be blocked by the Neroverdi defender, Milinkovic-Savic went on and put the ball into the net and then had to wait for a while VAR checks to check for possible offside before the goal is finally confirmed.
After experiencing a difficult period the visitors finally pulled back in stoppage time through Hamed Traore.
