Sarri: "Future? For Now, My Only Focus Is The Match Against Sassuolo. I Spoke With Lotito Yesterday And We Would Like To Speak To Some Player."
Maurizio Sarri was reluctant to comment on his future at Lazio ahead of Saturday night's game against Sassuolo (02/04). Negotiations on his new contract are still ongoing.
Tuscan coach, Maurizio Sarri held a press conference ahead of Lazio's game against Sassuolo on Saturday night. He confirmed he had met Claudio Lotito the day before, but declined to comment on his future.
"I spoke with Lotito yesterday (Thursday) and we would like to speak to some players," said the coach as quoted by Football-Italia.
"The game against Roma is inexplicable, you can lose a game with a different reaction and a different commitment."
"I was mad at the players and myself. I didn't feel the emotional energy before the game. I tried to intervene, but maybe I didn't do it right."
"Now we need pride without thinking about anything else. Future? We'll see, for now, my only focus is the match against Sassuolo."
The Biancoceleste are currently seventh in the Serie A standings with 49 points from the 30 matches played so far in the 2021/22 season. They hope to return to winning ways after being beaten by Roma before the international break that ended The Aquile's winning streak.
