Pedro: "Money Is Important. But To Be Honest, When I Started Playing, I Didn't Think About Money. I Just Think About Life And Enjoy Experiences Like Playing With Leo Messi For Example."
Pedro highlighted how lucky he was to be part of Lazio and highlighted the positive aspects of being a professional footballer. The Spanish winger has been one of Maurizio Sarri's regulars since this season.
Spanish winger Pedro Rodriguez, 34, joined Lazio on a free transfer last summer after agreeing to terminate his contract with city rivals Roma.
He has been one of the brightest players under Maurizio Sarri this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 38 appearances in all competitions this season. Pedro talks about his move to Lazio and his goals for the season.
"It's been a very busy year since the start of the season, but since arriving at Lazio, I've had a lot of fun. I'm happy, even if we're not close to our goal at the moment," said the winger as quoted by LazioNews24.
"One of our goals is to be in the top four, which is very difficult at the moment."
Next, the winger spoke about some of his positive feelings as a professional footballer.
"Money is important because you can use it to help family and friends who are not in good shape. I think that aspect is important for everyone," he explained.
"Ultimately, every professional player is looking for the best job possible."
"But to be honest, when I started playing, I didn't think about money. I don't think young people think about making millions or having a good life. I just think about life and enjoy experiences like playing with Leo Messi for example."
"Many of my teammates have been amazed since I've been here when I tell them there are better things than making money."
The 34-year-old is contracted by Lazio until 2023 and is proving to be a wonderful short-term addition to Maurizio Sarri's squad at Rome.
