Lazio And Roma Compete For Benjamin Bourigeaud's Signature

Lazio is interested in signing Rennes midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud and hopes to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico in the summer.

Benjamin Bourigeaud is arguably one of the standout players in Ligue 1 this season. So far, he has recorded 9 goals and 12 assists in 34 games in Ligue 1 2021/2022.

His impressive performance immediately caught the attention of some of Europe's top clubs. Lazio who have already started preparations for next season is one of the club that is interested in signing him.

As Le10sport.com reports, it's not just Biancoceleste who wants Benjamin Bourigeaud's signature. However, city rivals in the Italian league, Roma are also keen to bring French footballers into the summer transfer market, which opens in July.

Benjamin Bourigeaud's contract at Rennes doesn't expire until June 2023, but they don't want to lose the player on a free transfer. In doing so, French clubs can take advantage of this in the summer. Rennes valued him at around 15 million euros, a figure that would not be difficult to achieve in the summer.

Benjamin Bourigeaud is a Lens academy graduate, he was brought in by Rennes in 2017. Then he became part of the team that won the 2018/2019 French Cup trophy.
