Ciro Immobile Is Trying To Catch Messi And Lewandowski Record
Ciro Immobile is reportedly trying to catch the records of two world football stars, Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi, who have both scored goals since the 2016/17 season surpassed him.
Ciro Immobile, who scored a hat-trick in Lazio's 4-1 win over Genoa last Sunday, is currently the top scorer in Serie A with 24 goals in 27 games, ahead of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic with two more goals.
According to Football-Italia, since the 2016/17 season, Immobile has scored 147 goals in the league, only Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi have scored more goals than the Italian striker.
The Argentine superstar has scored 165 goals (162 goals at Barcelona and just three in Ligue 1 with PSG) while the Poland international has scored 188 goals for Bayern Munich.
The Biancoceleste star is one step away from becoming the top scorer in Serie A history, scoring 179 goals in Serie A throughout his career, just four behind Gabriel Batistuta (12th in the list of top scorers in Serie A). And nine goals behind Alberto Gilardino, Giuseppe Signori and Alex Del Piero.
But unfortunately the striker was not able to emulate his Lazio's performance with the Italian national team, having only scored 15 goals in 55 games for the senior team of Italy.
