Lazio Interested In Porto's Vitinha To Strengthen Their Midfield Next Summer
Lazio is reportedly very interested in the services of Porto midfielder, Vitinha and plans to sign him next summer. The capital club was impressed with his performance in the play-off round of 16 Europa League some time ago.
According to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder, Vitinha put in an impressive performance which attracted Lazio in the Europa League last 16 play-off matches and he caught the attention of director Igli Tare as well as coach Maurizio Sarri.
The midfielder's asking price of 20 million euros is a bit high, but the Biancoceleste hope talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, will help make the transfer more affordable.
The player's contract with Porto runs until 2024 and they don't want to sell him either. The 22-year-old came from Porto's academy and has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season, totaling 2,094 minutes. During that time, he scored three goals and provided three assists.
The Aquile are also interested in signing Sassuolo midfielder Maxime Lopez but he may be difficult to sign because his transfer fee is also €20 million. Maurizio Sarri's side is looking to add options to their midfield if they are left out by their main players in the summer, such as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who PSG and Manchester United are interested in.
