Update On Ciro Immobile's Injury
Good news for Lazio and the Italian national team after it was reported that the ankle injury suffered by their regular striker, Ciro Immobile was not serious and he might be able to return to play in this weekend's match.
Lazio and the Azzurri are relieved to hear that after a series of tests were carried out to analyze Ciro Immobile's ankle injury it turned out not to be serious so the striker could be back in action this weekend.
The 31-year-old striker picked up the injury during the Biancoceleste's 4-0 thrashing of Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals at the San Siro following an ankle injury involving defender Pierre Kalulu.
Previously, it was feared that it would be bad news not only for Maurizio Sarri's team but also the Azzurri national team and the World Cup play-off match against north Macedonia next month.
However, the latest news reported by La Gazetta dello Sport reveals that the injury is not serious and although his right leg looks swollen the striker can still move his ankle.
Immobile is then scheduled to test it out in training this Friday and will most likely start the match against Bologna in Serie A on Saturday.
However, it remains to be seen whether Maurizio Sarri will take the risk of the situation especially as his team will have a Europa League play-off match against FC Porto which will take place on Thursday 17 February.
