Update On Acerbi's Injury
Lazio defender, Francesco Acerbi is reportedly still unable to play for his team in the next two matches, namely, against Porto in the Europa League play-offs and Udinese in Serie A. The Italian player is still concentrating on recovering the muscle injury he suffered.
According to reports by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, 34-year-old Italian defender Francesco Acerbi is still not fully recovered from the muscle injury sustained during Lazio's 3-3 draw with Empoli earlier this month.
This condition forced Acerbi to miss the two matches that the Biancoceleste will play this week, against Porto and Udinese. In addition, he will not be able to train with Maurizio Sarri's squad until at least 21 February.
His absence is not a bad thing for the Aquile as they managed to keep four clean sheets in a row in their last four league games which is a sign of stability in their defense.
The 34-year-old, who is contracted to The Aquile until 2025, has made 24 appearances in all competitions so far in the 2021/22 season, playing 2081 minutes in total. In that period he scored three goals and contributed two assists.
During the defender's absence, Maurizio Sarri used Patric to replace him and the coach admitted that he was surprised by the development of the Spaniard in addition to the outstanding performance of Luiz Felipe Ramos at the heart of his team's defense.
