Milinkovic-Savic Shines Throughout 2021

Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic showed brilliant performances throughout 2021 in the era of Simone Inzaghi and Maurizio Sarri.  His position as a leader in the midfield of the Italian capital club is almost irreplaceable.  The Serbian player also proved it by contributing goals and assists.

As reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, 26-year-old Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been a regular of Lazio's squad during Simone Inzaghi's era and he is still an important part of Maurizio Sarri's squad this season.

Milinkovic-Savic has scored 10 goals and contributed 11 assists throughout 2021 and then became one of the most clinical midfielders in Serie A. The Serbian midfielder who is contracted by the Biancoceleste until 2024 has all the determination to repeat his form in 2022. It is claimed he is still happy at Rome even though widely linked with his transfer to another club.  His father, Nikola recently confirmed that the player is happy in the Italian capital.

This 2021/22 season, he has made 25 appearances in all competitions, with a total of 1780 minutes played.  In that period he has scored five goals and contributed six assists, he proved to still appear consistent even though his team changed tactics and formation.  Currently, he and his teammates are concentrating on their opening match in 2022 against Empoli which will take place on Thursday (06/12) local time.
