Lukaku Is One Step Away From Joining Vicenza

Lazio's outcast left-back Jordan Lukaku is reportedly just one step away from joining Serie B club Vicenza.  The defender has not featured for Maurizio Sarri's side this season.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Giornale di Vicenza, 27-year-old Belgian full-back Jordan Lukaku is just one step away from joining Serie B side Vicenza and the deal is likely to be finalized this week.

The defender is contracted by Lazio until June 2022, however, he has not been featured for the club since August 2020, when he only played seven minutes in their 3-1 defeat by Napoli.  He is a rare player at Rome, making just 85 appearances but overall only playing 3947 minutes since joining in 2016.

Lukaku is ready to start his new adventure in Serie B, where he seems eager to get more playing time and find a place to show his skills.  He was unable to convince coach Maurizio Sarri in pre-season training last summer but now he has the chance to shine in the Italian second division.

In the 2020/21 season, the defender was loaned to Belgian first division club Royal Antwerp and he made 22 appearances in all competitions.  Compared to his older brother, Romelu, Jordan's career has not been brilliant but he is still trying to get up and improve.
