Cataldi Confirmed To Be Absent Against Atalanta
Danilo Cataldi was forced to miss Lazio's next match in Serie A against Atalanta after being shown his fifth yellow card of the season in his side's 3-0 win over Salernitana on Saturday (15/01) evening local time.
As reported by the Italian newspaper LazioNews24, 27-year-old Italian midfielder Danilo Cataldi has received his fifth yellow card in the 2021/22 Serie A season in the match against Salernitana, in the 28th minute, meaning he will certainly miss next weekend match against Atalanta.
Surely this is bad news for coach Maurizio Sarri who also had to lose Pedro with a calf injury for Lazio's match against the team based in Bergamo.
That's because the 63-year-old coach has recently given a lot of trust to Cataldi. So his absence is a big loss, especially in a big game.
The 27-year-old midfielder is contracted by the Biancoceleste until 2024 and he has made 25 appearances in all competitions so far for a total of 1310 minutes. In that period he has contributed one goal and two assists and can adapt well to Sarri's system.
Meanwhile, The Aquile just won 3-0 over Salernitana last Saturday night. An additional three points took them to seventh place in the Serie A standings.
