[Serie A] Venezia - Lazio = 1 - 3
Lazio continued their positive trend by beating Venezia 3-1 in the 19th match of the Italian League on Wednesday (12/22/2021) local time.
On a trip to the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium, Lazio beat hosts Venezia 3-1 to record a winning streak in the last two matches.
Pedro Rodriguez put Lazio in front just three minutes after the start, finishing off Adam Marusic's cross with his left foot.
The hosts hit back with Francesco Forte's header in the 30th minute and the score held until halftime, but Lazio managed to restore the lead in the 48th minute through Francesco Acerbi's close-range finish in a corner.
Lazio then looked to have more control of the game but struggled to score any additional goals to finally take the advantage when midfielder Tanner Tessmann was shown a red card in the first minute of injury time, forcing Venezia to finish with just ten men.
This situation was able to be exploited by Luis Alberto who scored a complementary goal for Lazio's victory in the fifth minute of injury time.
Despite winning, Lazio has not moved from the eighth position in the standings with 31 points, while Venezia, who has now missed six winless matches, has not moved from 16th place with 17 points.
