Milinkovic-Savic: "It's A Different Style, With Sarri We Play The Ball With Our Feet More, We Haven't Been Able To Do That In The Last Few Games, But I Like It When We Play It And Don't Just Play Long Balls."
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic says Lazio will be ready to play any team in the playoffs after they failed to beat Galatasaray in their final group stage match which took place last Thursday night.
Lazio would lead the group and go straight to the last 16 of the Europa League with a win but they were held to a 0-0 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.
"It wasn't what we wanted, of course, we wanted to win and tried everything to get the three points but Galatasaray defended well and the ball didn't go in," Milinkovic-Savic said via Sky Sport Italia.
This means Lazio along with Napoli will head to the play-offs against teams that were knocked out of the Champions League including Barcelona, Sevilla, and Borussia Dortmund.
"We qualified as runners-up and now we have to be ready for the next round, we've looked at the teams that might be our opponents, but we will be ready and try to advance in this competition."
The Biancoceleste are still adapting to Maurizio Sarri's style of play and their passing is too slow to cause problems for the opposing team.
"It's a different style, with Sarri we play the ball with our feet more, we haven't been able to do that in the last few games, but I like it when we play it and don't just play long balls."
Biancoceleste is considered to need a very long time to increase the tempo and press Galatasaray are they worried about having to face a possible counter-attack?
"We knew if we conceded in the first minute it would be very difficult to turn it around, there was also pressure to win, but I think we played well and created chances to score."
