Milan, Juventus And Inter Are Targeting Acerbi For Reinforce Their Backline
Three Serie A giants, AC Milan, Inter, and Juventus are reportedly all interested in getting the services of Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi, who has now lost his irreplaceable status in Maurizio Sarri's team.
As reported by Italian media, LaLazioSiamoNoi, the 33-year-old Italian defender has had difficulty adapting to the system implemented by Maurizio Sarri this season and he is no longer considered irreplaceable in the Lazio squad.
AC Milan is interested in the defender's services for some reasons, starting with captain Alessio Romagnoli's expiring contract. While younger defender Matteo Gabbia is also set to leave next summer and Simon Kjaer is recovering from a serious injury, the club is considering Acerbi as a short-term replacement.
Juventus are also admirers of the 33-year-old Italian's services and he could be a strong potential replacement should Matthijs de Ligt or Daniele Rugani leave at the end of the season. Coach Max Allegri also admires Acerbi and is delighted to be pairing him with Leonardo Bonucci.
Last time, Inter, coach Simone Inzaghi wanted him at Rome when he first signed and the departure of Andrea Ranocchia next year left one place, Stefan de Vrij was also rumored to be leaving after his agent Mino Raiola pushed him to move to the Premier League.
Biancoceleste president, Claudio Lotito pinned a transfer fee of 5 million euros, which is quite an expensive sum for a player who will turn 34 next summer. The Italian defender is reliable and in good physical condition which makes him an attractive option for big clubs and The Aquile is ready to listen to the offers that come along.
