Lazio Hope Luis Alberto Is Fit Enough To Face Genoa
Lazio is expecting one of their star midfielders, Luis Alberto, to be fit enough when they face the Serie A match against Genoa which will take place on Friday (17/12) local time.
As reported by Italian newspapers, Il Messaggero, 29-year-old Spanish midfielder, Luis Alberto did not participate in the Lazio squad's trip to Reggio Emilia to face Sassuolo at the weekend after suffering a muscle injury. This led to coach Maurizio Sarri using his second-choice midfield after Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was also sidelined through suspension.
To make matters worse, two other Biancoceleste midfielders, Pedro and Mattia Zaccagni had to come off during their 2-1 loss to Sassuolo last weekend due to physical problems, leaving Sarri worried about the current state of his squad ahead of the last two games in 2021.
Both players will be monitored this week and for now, Zaccagni's condition appears to have improved a bit but there is good news as well regarding the two midfielders who missed last weekend. Milinkovic-Savic is available against Genoa on Friday after serving a one-match suspension and Luis Alberto also looks fit enough to face the Rossoblu after the break.
The Aquile have to improve their position in the Serie A standings which are further away from the Champions League zone, now they are in ninth place with 25 points from 17 matches played.
