[Serie A] Lazio - Juventus = 0 - 2

Lazio host Juventus in the 13th week of the Italian League Serie A 2021/22.  This match at the Stadio Olimpico ended 2-0 in favor of the visitors.

Juventus' two goals were all scored by central defender Leonardo Bonucci from the penalty spot.  The first he created in the 23rd minute, while the second penalty was scored in the 83rd minute.

Juventus also matched Lazio's 21 points and is currently four points adrift of the top four.  Next midweek, Lazio and Juventus will both play away in Europe.  Lazio will face Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League, while Juventus will face Chelsea in the Champions League.

Juventus started the game in a pretty bad way.  Only 15 minutes into the game, coach Massimiliano Allegri had to make a substitution after right-wing-back Danilo suffered an injury.  He also included Dejan Kulusevksi.

In the 20th minute, a sliding from Danilo Cataldi against Alvaro Morata inside the Lazio penalty box led referee Marco Di Bello to check VAR.  Penalty awarded.  Bonucci stepped up as an executioner, successfully outwit Pepe Reina, and brought Juventus 1-0 up.

Without the injured Ciro Immobile, coach Maurizio Sarri has relied on the trio of Mattia Zaccagni, Pedro, and Felipe Anderson up front to try to dismantle his former team's defense.  However, his team struggled to create meaningful threats against Bianconeri.

Only one goal was created in the first half, the match also went tough in the second half.  Lazio still struggles to build attacks, while Juventus remain disciplined to survive.

Entering the last ten minutes, Lazio got a second blow.  The referee again pointed to the white dot.  This time, the offense was committed by Reina against Federico Chiesa.

Bonucci again acted as a penalty executioner and successfully forced Reina to pick the ball from the net for the second time.

After that, Lazio really could not get up again.  Colored by tension on the touchline at the end of the match and yellow cards for both coaches, Juventus managed to close this match with a 2-0 victory.
