Pedro And Immobile Will Be Rested Against Lokomotiv Moscow, Muriqi Will Be A Starter
Lazio striker, Vedat Muriqi is likely to start in the fifth match of the group stage against Lokomotiv Moscow which will be played on Thursday (25/11) evening local time in Russia. This is because Ciro Immobile is still not fully fit to play from the start.
As reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri was forced to think hard about his attacking line in the match against Lokomotiv Moscow after both winger Pedro and striker Ciro Immobile still suffered minor injuries and have not fully recovered.
Pedro has reportedly not been training for the last two days due to a back problem, which is likely due to his heavy workload since the start of the 2021/22 season. This means that he will likely be rested as well as Biancoceleste star Immobile who is recovering from a calf injury.
That means Vedat Muriqi has another chance to prove himself and show Sarri that he can fully count on being a backup striker for the 31-year-old Italian, something he has failed to do so far. Alongside Muriqi will be accompanied by Italian midfielder Mattia Zaccagni and Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson.
Sarri himself has revealed that Immobile's condition has started to improve but it is too early for him to play in the match against Lokomotiv as the striker has not been able to train fully for the past two weeks as he is still recovering from a calf injury.
