Lazio Are Getting Serious About Signing Daniele Rugani
Lazio is reportedly getting serious about pursuing the services of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani and will start discussions about a move shortly. But previously the capital club had to release one player in defense to make room for the Italian.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, coach Maurizio Sarri wants a new center-back to replace the departing Denis Vavro and would love to work with 27-year-old Juventus' Daniele Rugani who was sidelined under Massimiliano Allegri and moved to Lazio maybe he could revive his career.
Rugani has made just one Serie A appearance so far in the 2021/22 season for Juventus but the biggest hurdle facing him is Allegri's position. The coach doesn't want to lose a reliable player, especially given Giorgio Chiellini's inconsistent fitness.
Meanwhile, Rugani's current contract with Juve will run until 2023 and currently has a transfer fee of fewer than 10 million Euros which makes the transfer still affordable.
The Biancoceleste coach, Maurizio Sarri is reportedly happy to be working with the Italian defender again, considering that the two have also worked together long before while still at Empoli, the capital club is reportedly ready to hold discussions regarding a possible transfer.
