Bad News For Lazio, Adam Marusic Confirmed Positive Covid-19

Lazio has to get bad news again ahead of Montenegro vs. Netherlands match.

The news on the condition of Lazio's player, Adam Marusic, has been confirmed to have Covid-19 when he will represent Montenegro against Netherlands.

That match ended with a 2-2 draw for Montenegro and Netherlands. Adam Marusic was not available there throughout the game and had to go into quarantine.

The announcement was made by the Montenegrin football federation (PSCG) as they prepare for their World Cup qualifying campaign.

"The Montenegrin national team players Nebojsa Kosovic and Adam Marusic will not be available to coach Miodrag Radulovic for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Netherlands and Turkey," PSCG said.

As reported by the local football federation, they underwent tests after experiencing mild symptoms.

As a result, both players were confirmed to have contracted the Covid-19 virus.

"The players underwent tests because they recorded mild symptoms of infection, and on that occasion, it was determined the presence of the new coronavirus."

The two players were then isolated and did not get a chance to play against Netherlands.

Fortunately, both players are reported to have been evacuated in time.

"Both players were isolated promptly from the rest of the team and all necessary health and sanitation measures were in place for their further treatment," the report said.

Previously, Montenegro striker, Stevan Jovetic also tested positive for corona.

This Adam Marusic's news is another blow for the Biancoceleste, who have already seen Ciro Immobile leave the Italian camp early with a calf injury.

Marusic is just 29 years old and has played at right-back for Lazio this season in Maurizio Sarri's 4-3-3 formation.

He made 14 competitive appearances between Serie A and the Europa League. He has 43 senior caps for Montenegro, scoring two goals.
