Acerbi: "Compared To The Beginning Of The Season, We Have Now Made Significant Progress To Bring Lazio Into The Team The Coach Wants Us To Be."

Lazio center-back, Francesco Acerbi said that the Biancoceleste squad was now ready to become the team that coach Maurizio Sarri wanted.

As is known, Lazio is currently undergoing a transition period after the change of coach from Simone Inzaghi to Maurizio Sarri.

The performance of the team under Sarri's control went quite well because Francesco Acerbi and his teammates have now collected 21 points from 13 Serie A matches, and are only four points adrift of the Champions League zone.

In a press conference session ahead of the Europa League group stage duel against Lokomotiv Moscow on Friday (26/11) the day after tomorrow, Francesco Acerbi said that his team now understands what Sarri wants.

"Compared to the beginning of the season, we have now made significant progress to bring Lazio into the team the coach wants us to be," Acerbi said.

"Although there are many things that can be done well, there are still other aspects that we need to fix, especially the problem of game details."

"Sometimes we have to be a little more disciplined on the pitch. We as players always give everything, but sometimes it's not enough."

Acerbi then added that the Biancoceleste this season is still often negligent in playing matches against big teams and the 33-year-old defender hopes that this problem can be resolved soon.

"This season, we still often appear sloppy when facing a strong team. This carelessness is what ultimately punishes us," he continued.

"We have to be very careful throughout the 90 minutes of the game," concluded the former AC Milan defender.
