Sarri's Record Against Inter Milan


Lazio coach, Maurizio Sarri has a positive history against Inter Milan and he wants to continue that trend when his team host Simone Inzaghi's side on Saturday (16/10) in Serie A.


As summarized by Transfermarkt, the 62-year-old Italian has faced Inter Milan 11 times in his career, making five of those matches, drawing three, and losing three.


Sarri's first meeting with Inter took place in the 2014/15 season when he was still in charge of Empoli, the match ended in a 0-0 draw. In the second game of the season, the Tuscan coach lost 4-3 to the Nerazzuri in Milan.


In the following season, the team of the 62-year-old coach, Napoli faced Inter three times, winning 2-1 at home in the first meeting of the 2015/16 season. The second match between the two teams came in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals with the Nerazzuri winning 2-0, and the same scoreline resulted in the last match between Inter and Napoli of the season.


The 2-0 loss in April 2016 was the first time the coach has lost to Inter, meaning he is still unbeaten in the last six meetings. In the 2016/17 season, Napoli recorded wins in two meetings against Inter with a score of 3-0 and 1-0. The following season ended in a goalless draw in the 2017/18 season.


In his last match of the 2019/20 season, Sarri's team Juventus beat Antonio Conte's Inter 2-1 and 2-0, the record certainly gives Lazio fans hope that the 62-year-old Italian coach will continue his positive trend this week.
