Sarri: "Cataldi Has Become An Important Player For Us, He Can Be An Important Player In Italian Football."

Maurizio Sarri said Lazio's performance against Fiorentina was one of their best performances this season after his side won 1-0 against the visitors on Wednesday (27/10) evening local time. The coach also gave special praise to Danilo Cataldi.

Pedro became the hero of Lazio's victory through his only goal that netted Fiorentina's goal at the Stadio Olimpico and at the same time led his team to three perfect points. Maurizio Sarri also commented on the course of the match which took place on Wednesday night.

"I think we played the best game of the season even better than against Inter and Roma," he said via DAZN.

“We were solid defensively, one of the plans we had in mind was to move Milinkovic-Savic further forward to create four against four, we did well and scored.

"We lacked courage at the start of the game but the goals helped us overcome it, we had three technical players in midfield, Luis Alberto was decisive, Milinkovic-Savic also did very well."

The midfielders have both started in midfield alongside Danilo Cataldi, Sarri claiming last week that Luis Alberto and Milinkovic-Savic cannot play together but appeared to have changed his mind on Tuesday.

"Danilo is a very dynamic midfielder, but he can technically be outstanding," said the coach.

"Lucas is doing better defensively, Danilo has become more aggressive, normally, Leiva has struggled a little bit in a lot of games in a row and at the moment, Cataldi has become important for us, he has become an important player for us, he can be an important player in Italian football."
